About a week ago we got a hamster named Marven. well a couple days ago he was in his ball just rollin about and when no one was watching he managed to escape. We had no clue where he was. We didn't know if he had made it outside or if he was in the wall or if he was hiding under a pile of stuff or if Chewy had eaten him. He was just gone.
I had about decided he was gone forever when we went to bed last night. I figured he had escaped under the door was out in the world or had been eaten by a cat. Very possible theories, but not what happened.
Around 3 this morning Trav and I were sound asleep in our bed when I felt something crawling on my neck. Now at first I thought it was just a bug, maybe a spider so I went to get it off. When I touched it, it was big and hairy so I freaked out and threw it off of me. My first thought was that it was a tarantula. IDK why there would have been one in my house let alone in my bed but that's what I figured it was. For about the first 10 seconds. After I threw it off I sat up yelling, "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!" Trav woke up completely confused and worried something was wrong. this is about the time I figured out it wasn't a tarantula or even a spider. "The hamster is still in the house!" now Trav is even more confused because he has no idea what's happened so far so I had to explain that either Marven had just attempted to climb on my face or a mouse, and we don't have mice in our house so I was 99% sure it was Marven.
I flipped on the lights and started searching. not under the bed. not in the pile of blankets. not in the pile of clothes. where the heck did I throw this hamster? finally I saw him. he was trying to crawl behind the bedside table but we have wood on our bedroom walls for decoration and it was blocking him from going behind more than about 2 inches. I caught the stupid hamster and put him in his cage.
when i got up this morning his cheeks were so full of food I don't even think he could chew. That's probably why he came out of hiding, he was hungry.
