2 weeks :)

Charlie had her 2 week doctor appointment today and she's growing wonderfully :)

She weighs 7 pounds 11 ounces she's gained almost a pound since last week :)
She's 20 3/4 inches long and has a 14in head. that means she's grown an inch since last week and 2 1/4 inches since she was born :)

the doctor was a little surprised by how much weight she's gained so quickly :)

My little girl is getting so big so fast i really need to get newborn pictures done before she grows anymore!

Labor Brings Love :)

Charlie Rae Larsen
Born: December 30, 2012
Weight: 6 pounds 15 ounces
Height: 18.5 inches

Labor started at just before 6 pm on December 29. When I started to notice the contractions they were 7ish minutes apart and they were strong. I wasn't in super bad pain but they were definitely happening. We left for the hospital at 9 pm.
The day before at my doctors appointment i was dilated to a 2 when we got to the hospital I was at a 3. An hour later I was still a 3 but they kept me there anyway because I was definitely in labor and the baby was coming. So we got comfortable as we could. I got an epidural at around 11 (I think I'm not sure that's what Trav tells me because I don't remember). There is absolutely no way I could have made it without one. I have like zero pain tolerance.
At 4am on the 30th I was given pitocin to help speed up labor. When my next contraction started things got complicated. My contraction didn't stop. The nurses came back in about 5 minutes later and put me on Oxygen because Charlies heart rate had dropped and wasn't coming back up because the contraction wasn't stopping. I was given some other medication to actually stop my contraction. they basically had to stop my labor completely and let my body start back up again on its own. They kept saying they would try the pitocin again later but we ended up not trying again because of how badly Charlie reacted to it the first time.
When it was time to push I only pushed for like 20 minutes and Charlie was here! I did end up on the oxygen again during the last few pushes and they used the vacuum thing because her heart rate had dropped again.
At 1:27 pm on December 30, 2012 Charlie Rae Larsen was born! and she is perfect! and loud! she is a crier that's for sure :) she cried for probably the first 30 minutes
Labor didn't hurt as much as I expected but that's probably because my epidural made me feel nothing but pressure :) not pain
Having her home with us is amazing. she is so perfect and so very cute i must say :) She had a doctors appointment the friday after she was born and was already back at her birth weight (she sure is an eater!) and had grown to 19 3/4 inches
My baby girl is amazing and I don't know how I ever lived without her!
